During our site visit to Makunsar village, one of my key observations was that people enjoy
socializing sharing stories and engaging in conversations Gossip often takes place in small,

intimate pocket spaces, naturally fostering social interaction. This in sight will play a

significant role in shaping my design approach.

A specific example that stood out was agrandmotherwholivedaloneinherhouse.Herson
anddaughter-in-law,workinginVirar,visitedonlyonweekends.Withnoonetotalkto
duringtheweek,sheexperiencedfeelingsofloneliness. Similarly,attheoldagehomein
Kelva,Imetanothergrandmotherwholovedtalkingandsharingherexperiences.Shesaid
thatwhenshetalkstoothers,timejustfliesby.Itwasclearhowmuchjoyandcomfort

conversationsbringtoher.

These experiences made me realize how essential it is to design spaces that encourage people
to come together. I plan to study how houses in the village naturally create small corner
spaces where people gather and talk. Taking in spiration from that, I want to design a central hall surrounded by different programs. But more than just a functional space, this hall will be designed as a place where people can sit, chat, and connect a space that invites conversation and fosters a sense of belonging. Through this approach, I hope to create an environment where no one feels alone, and where conversation scan flourish naturally
